One memory is actually a recurring one. It’s about Bananas + Oranges. It was a big topic of discussion, knowing Bananas would arrive at the local Konsum shop. They were counted, allotted and we had to queue for hours to get our share. Bananas and Oranges were valuable, most precious. But the quality was never good. However, we as kids had to eat them, because it was such a treat. To this day I cannot eat ripe or even over ripe bananas in any shape or form.
