West Germany 1990

When the wall fell, at first nobody believed it was real. Then people were afraid. My neighbours locked the front door, warning everyone of thieves from the East. My friend got a girlfriend from the East and in March 1990, we bought a “Trabi” (Trabant car) and drove to the East. They made love under the Brandenburg Gate while we made sure no police was coming. Their relationship didn’t last long, but we will always remember our road trip into the past.
